ET and Sibyl Hovatter, founders of "Hovatter Farms"

Hovatter Farms was founded in 1952 when Dutch Hovatter, then a Major in the Air Force, purchased the farm to the amazement of his fellow officers who would ask him "what are you going to do with that land clear out in the middle of nowhere...”  Fifty four years have passed and retired Colonel E.T. and Sibyl Hovatter still reside on the farm while the urban encroachment of houses from the Virginia/Washington D.C. suburbs continues around it.

The farm is now owned as “Hovatter Farms, Limited Partners” which consists of E.T. and Sibyl Hovatter, sons Jeff, Ken and Marv. Ken Hovatter is Managing General Partner and lives nearby on Matlar Farm with his wife Jessie and their two children, Laura and Matt.

Jeff and Valerie live with their son Geoffrey in San Antonio, Texas.
